Driving School in High Wycombe & Other Surrounding Areas

Do you want to learn to drive but are not sure how to go about it? At our driving school in High Wycombe, we are here to assist in getting you on the road from start to finish. The Rookie Driver School of Motoring is fully equipped to provide you with the skills you need to drive safely and with confidence.

In the UK if you want to learn to drive, you must be at least 17 years old and acquire a valid provisional licence. This can be obtained up to 3 months before your 17th birthday. Driving licences are issued by the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The application form D1 can be obtained from any Post Office, or you can apply online at the DVLA.

Professional ADI Driving Instructors

Anyone who is over 21 and has had a drivers licence for 3 years can teach you to drive, but certainly the best and safest way to learn is by taking lessons from an approved driving instructor at our driving school in High Wycombe.

At Rookie Driver, we have highly experienced and certified ADI driving instructors who will provide training that is customised to your individual needs. Combined with the use of advanced in-car training techniques, we will ensure that you have the best chance of becoming a safe and skilled driver.

You should pass your driving theory and practical test the very first time. On average, students who pass their driving test had 45 hours of driving lessons with a driving instructor, and 22 hours of private practice. We offer driving lessons in one, one and a half, and two-hour sessions.

We recommend the two-hour session, which allows more time for your driving instructor to explain new parts of the syllabus, and helps you complete your course more quickly. We also provide free lesson handouts as a review for what was just taught, or in preparation for the next skills to be mastered.
